Fred graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1993 and received an Honours Bachelor of Commerce (Co-operative) degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland, where he majored in the areas of finance and quantitative analysis. His business degree included a number of computer programming courses.

Before joining Siskinds in 1998, Fred articled and practiced with a major Toronto-based international law firm and worked in London as an advisor to local entrepreneurs on various business and legal matters.

Today, Fred practices exclusively in the business law area, advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, financing, reorganizations, shareholder agreements, software license and development agreements. His client base includes a number of manufacturers and hi tech companies.
